To the rear of the hall, the Victorians originally built a glass-roofed conservatory which has been converted into an enchanting outdoor lavender garden. When the previous owner of the property, Orlando Greenwood, removed the glass shell, he replaced a portion of one of the outer walls with marvellous Yorkshire stone taken from Hellifield Piel.
As well as including a range of different lavender plants, the courtyard also has an original 18th Century sundial and live beehive. Beware!
